Staff members will be required to disclose financial relationships with device manufacturers and comply with the same conflict of interest standards applied to the medical reviewer.

Management of Identified Conflicts

When material conflicts of interest are identified, Wearable Wellness Guide follows strict management procedures to protect editorial independence and maintain reader trust:

Recusal Procedures When Conflicts Exist:

•   Any reviewer or staff member with a material conflict of interest related to a specific device, manufacturer, or technology must recuse themselves from reviewing or creating content about that device or technology.

•   Recusal decisions are documented and retained for audit purposes.

•       Content affected by recusal will include a disclosure statement explaining the conflict management approach.

Alternative Reviewer Assignment Process:

•   If a conflict requires recusal, an alternative qualified reviewer with no conflicts will be assigned to conduct the medical review.

•   If no conflict-free internal reviewer is available, external peer reviewers may be engaged on a case-by-case basis, with their credentials and conflict disclosures published transparently.

•       In cases where no qualified conflict-free reviewer can be identified, the device will not be reviewed until such a reviewer becomes available.

Public Disclosure in Affected Content:

•   Any content where a conflict was identified and managed will include a prominent disclosure statement at the top of the article.

•       The disclosure will explain the nature of the conflict, how it was managed (e.g., reviewer recusal, alternative reviewer assignment), and who conducted the final medical review.

Annual Audit of Conflict Management:

•   All conflict disclosures and management procedures are audited annually to ensure compliance with this policy.

•   The annual audit includes review of recusal decisions, alternative reviewer assignments, and public disclosure accuracy. Results are documented internally and made available upon request.
